Another Sunday Hike

This weekend we all headed out for another breakfast and family hike. This time we ate at the Eatery and headed down to Trinidad State Beach. At the bottom we found a large stump it was perfect for a snack and a few pictures.

It was a wet, steep hike but Bryson walked the whole way!

A Lefty?

Kit’s really excited that Nallia might be a lefty.

Kindersports!

Bryson started another session of kindersports. Here he is doing the obstacle coarse.

90 Days and Counting

We are slowly planing a wonderful summer of traveling adventures. We have just 90 days until we leave for Europe! It will the first time for both kids will be out of the country. We plan to spend about three weeks traveling within Germany. So far we are meeting friends to tour some castles and meeting up with my (Kit’s) family for a wedding. In July we have some plans to spend a week in Southern California so I can attend a conference and the kids can hangout with their cousins. We also want to try to camp a few times with the friends and be outside as much as possible. Last we have a trip back to Hawaii in the works for November! What an amazing life, I am thankful everyday for the time we all get to be together and all of our adventures.

A few weeks ago we went on a nice family hike around Trinidad Head. It is great that we only had to carry the kids some of the time.

We are here in Ohio having a old fashion family Thanksgiving. Tonight we will join about 50 others to feast in the midwestern style turkey, gravy, rolls, pumpkin pie and more. We are staying at Drew’s dad’s house and will give thanks at the home of his aunt this evening. I believe everyone in the house will be related, all the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and spouses of Drew’s grandparents. The odd thing is that after they had 6 children, 3 girls and 3 boys then all of those six married and had children, now most of the grand children have had children. Bryson is the only male great grandchild with he last name Meyer.
While we have been here we have seen all the great family friendly joys of Cincinnati, the Museum Center, a private tour of a fire station by one of Drew’s cousins, Skyline Chili, some great shopping and of course we sat front row at the Bengals game last Sunday. Poor Bengals didn’t do so well but our home town player Rey Malaluguga started and the mascot Who Dey even came by and gave Bryson a high five!
Now I am sitting watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, it was great to see Southern Miss marching this morning! Go USM! Drew, Bryson and Grandpa are out working on the broken garage door opener and Nallia is napping on the couch. All of which I am thankful for!!

Four already?

We have been really busy this fall with kids, the house and work. Bryson is now 4, that means we have been posting to this page for almost 6 years! It make me laugh at how many people we know who are starting to blog.

Bryson had an amazing costume party for his birthday. We have about 40 people over for snacks, cake and fall fun. The backyard came together just a few weeks before with grass growing and the garden starting to have pumpkins. Drew got some hay bails, corn stalks and dressed up the front yard. We have a skelenton hunt, made trick-or-treat bag and had lots of crazy 4 year old running around. I was super lucky to have my parents here for a well before and they helped to pull it all together. Our friend, Jean, made Bryson his famous banana cake, as she has for the past 4 years. Yummy!

Here comes Halloween, I am sure more pics will come soon.

Riding a Bike!

We have been encouraging Bryson to ride his bike. When he found out his friends were riding without training wheels he got out a wrench and tried to take them off. With a little help he has a two wheeler. Fast forward a couple of months and watch the video.

On the road, again

Here is B as we enter Clear Lake. We have fun weekend planned, I hope he will enjoy it.

The Birthday Girl

Today is Nallia’s first birthday! Bryson woke up all excited and asked if today was is her day. He insisted we open presents. They opened a few in their jammies.

Yard Projects

It has been a while since we had a “house project.” Over the past 6 months we have been working on both the front and back yards. Since we moved in there was NO landscaping and we are the only new house on the block so I feel bad looking out the window to see nice yards and all our dirt and weeds. We first did the side yards with rock to keep the mud and weeds down. It took a weekend and two big piles of rick but it turned out nice. We finished this in January, which also happened to be the day our “big” earthquake so I guess I was just tamping the rock a little too hard!!!
Next we did a mow strip around the back yard and a small raised bed for a kids garden. Drew really took this over and it turned out great. Just this week we had about 300sq of stamped concrete poured for a patio in the front and back. We were lucky to meet some great neighbors with concrete skills!!! Again, I love living here! Here are some pictures, Bryson loved seeing the cement truck pull up. Next up we will be planting plants and doing the mow strip in the front.
